所谓“画龙点睛”，即在文章关键处，或一针见血地抵达事物内核， 或言简意赅地点明写作要旨。从行文结构来看，它往往起到了紧扣文题或话题的作用 从表达效果来看，一篇文章常常会因几个意蕴深刻的句子而流光溢彩，摇曳生辉。“画龙点睛”的句子多是议论性的，体现了的识见和学养，凝聚着的个性化感悟和人生智慧，显示了不同凡响的思考力，增加了文章的厚度，提升了文章的品质。

在我们平时的写作实践中，就某事某物来探幽索隐，是大家所习见和擅长的，如能在看似散乱的材料中感悟到并提炼出一个鲜明的主题， 无论是从思维延展的深度还是从内容涵盖的广度上来讲，都会更全面，更立体，更辩证，更大气，更饱满。将多则经过遴选的材料围绕着一个中心意思串联起来，使其环环相扣，浑然一体，正如德国诗人海涅所说的那样，“像首饰匠打金锁链那样精心地劳动着，把一个个小环节非常合适地连接起来”，无疑是立意创新中便捷而实用的方法。一般而言，这类文章通常可有以下两种结构方式:
其一，并列式，几个材料分别从不同的角度和不同的侧面来表现一个中心，材料之间可以相互补充，相互渗透。

逆向思维
逆向思维是相对于顺向思维而言的。所谓顺向思维，即根据材料的中心，联系实际，提出自己的观点和主张，这些观点和主张是对原材料中心的具体化和明晰化。而所谓逆向思维，即在对事物进行多角度、多方面、多因素、多变量的系统认识的基础上，以原材料的中心为对立面，换一种眼光，换一个角度看原材料，提出与其相反的观点。运用逆向思维，常能出奇制胜，是写出创新作文的一条有效途径。“逆向思维”大致包括三种情况:
1.独辟蹊径。向传统观念和常规思维挑战，大胆设想，从原观点的相反方向思索，从而提出有独到见解的新观点。如《伯乐相马的负面影响》《开卷不一定有益》《车到山前不一定有路》等。
2.旧意翻新。从原意中提出不同的观点，不一定与原观点对立，可以是原观点的深化，也可以是原观点的另一角度的阐述，即古人所谓“翻案法”。
3.一事多解。此法也称为多角度思维法。对同一事物，从不同角度去立意，选出一个与大众观点不同的角度去写，形成“琵琶反弹”的个性效果。
值得注意的是， 客观对象的两面性， 为逆向思维开拓了广阔的领域， 但我们在“求异”的同时， 不能攻其一点不及其余， 从一个极端走向另一个极端。
